Majlinda Bregasi, born in 1976, is a writer, linguist, and documentary film maker. She obtained her PhD from the University of Florence, where she also attended the Laurea Magistrale in Linguistics and European Literature and American Studies. She is a co-founder of ProArte Institute. In 2016, her first novel ‘Ikje’ (Escape) won the prize for the best novel of the year by the Ministry of Culture of Kosovo. Her follow-up was ‘Gërsheti i prerë’ and her third novel, ‘Stina e pestë’, was published in 2022. She teaches Italian and Latin language at the University of Prishtina.
