Daniel Bănulescu was born in Bucharest in 1960. He graduated in engineering but decided to work as a freelance writer. His publications, for which he has received many literary accolades, include novels, poetry collections and stage plays. Translations of his works have appeared in German, English, French, Hungarian, Dutch, Bulgarian, Slovene, and Swedish.
