The modern European sees himself as a single subject with a private inner world; what remains as an outer world between such inner worlds they allow natural science to tell them. The New Phenomenology pursues the task of making people understand their real life, i.e., to make the involuntary experience of life accessible again to coherent comprehension after clearing away historically shaped distortions.
