Probably each one of us carries his or her own little mythology around, pieced together from stories that our parents or grandparents have told and passed on to us. The importance of these stories is not related to their credibility, but rather to the fact that they are an integral part of what constitutes our identity. MOM is a sort of biography in verse. In it, Novak reveals the fate of his ancestors in an impressive and at the same time very intimate and touching fashion.
